A record-breaking gathering of enterprises, with premium momentum continuing to surge
This edition of the Canton Fair saw both the number of participating enterprises and the total number of exhibition booths (74,600) reach unprecedented levels. Among them, approximately 3,600 enterprises made their debut appearance, injecting fresh vitality into the event. More notably, the number of high-quality enterprises holding titles such as high-tech enterprises, specialised, refined, distinctive and innovative enterprises, and single-champion enterprises surpassed 10,000 for the first time, accounting for 34% of all export-oriented exhibitors. This underscores the formidable strength of China's manufacturing sector.
‘Buyers hold great confidence in the application of Chinese robots within industrial settings. Through the Canton Fair platform, we can better showcase “advanced manufacturing” solutions tailored for industrial upgrading,’ remarked Lu Qiuying, a representative from Guangzhou Ligong Industrial Co., Ltd., a first-time exhibitor. Her words echoed the sentiments of many new participants. Meanwhile, established players like Shenzhen Yuejiang Technology returned with new offerings such as intelligent collaborative robots, leveraging the exhibition to expand into overseas markets.
Smart innovations take centre stage as three-pronged transformation yields tangible results
Within the opening fortnight, the exhibition's defining themes emerged as innovation, intelligence and sustainability. Over one million newly developed products showcased on-site within the past year, alongside nearly 1.1 million proprietary intellectual property items and approximately 800,000 debut exhibits, presented a remarkable display of innovation.
In the industrial manufacturing zone, humanoid collaborative robots capable of rapid movement and precise operations, alongside quadrupedal robots performing backflips and ‘waving’ greetings, drew foreign buyers to pause and photograph them. The consumer lifestyle sector also delivered numerous highlights: Haier's integrated washing and shoe-cleaning machine pioneered a ‘three-drum-in-one’ design, enabling separate cleaning and drying for undergarments, outerwear, and footwear; Shenzhen Disheng Energy's solar backpack integrated high-efficiency photovoltaic panels to alleviate power anxiety for commuters; while Zhaoqing Junfeng Electronics' visualised keyboard offered customisable smart keys, significantly boosting productivity for both office work and gaming. The inaugural Smart Healthcare Zone set a benchmark for transformation, with 47 enterprises showcasing cutting-edge products including surgical robots and intelligent monitoring devices. The Service Robotics Zone gathered 46 companies, featuring embodied robots and robotic dogs that cultivate new export opportunities. Additionally, 353,000 intelligent products—such as smart microgrid energy management systems and AI+AR smart glasses—made their collective debut, establishing a comprehensive advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
Global buyers flock to the event as trade bridges grow ever stronger
As of 13 October, over 240,000 buyers from 218 export markets had completed pre-registration – a 10% increase month-on-month. Both professional buyers and leading enterprises attending are projected to exceed previous editions. One hundred and one overseas delegations and 126 leading enterprises organised buyers to attend, while 12 top domestic and international companies established presence in the procurement service zone for on-site negotiations, with supply-demand matching momentum continuing to rise.
‘The Canton Fair serves not only as a bridge connecting Chinese suppliers but also as a platform for deepening international cooperation,’ remarked Daniel, a Peruvian buyer who has attended multiple sessions, echoing a widely held view among global merchants. To facilitate international procurement, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport has established dedicated channels, while the metro system now enables contactless passage for overseas bank cards. The exhibition halls feature inaugural departure tax refund zones, with comprehensive hospitality measures ensuring global buyers feel right at home.
Multi-dimensional services empower trade, with domestic and international circulation synergising efforts
This edition of the Canton Fair pioneers a dedicated matchmaking event for premium export products targeting domestic sales, featuring a 3,000-square-metre dedicated zone. Through multiple targeted negotiations, it breaks down barriers between domestic and international trade. Over 600 new product launches (a 37% increase from the previous session) and 13 thematic forums focused on core needs such as market expansion and risk mitigation, providing enterprises with comprehensive support across the entire supply chain.
Regarding enterprise-friendly policies, the exhibition continued to offer a 50% reduction in booth fees for export exhibitors, while the Rural Revitalisation Zone enjoyed a full exemption, effectively lowering participation costs for businesses. With 240 trade service agencies on-site delivering professional support, enterprises can exhibit with greater ease and achieve more efficient transactions.
The Canton Fair has deepened our understanding of international trade rules while offering clearer insights into the strengths and challenges facing Chinese enterprises. I am confident that by steadfastly pursuing innovation, quality and service excellence, we shall achieve even greater success in the global marketplace.
